Out To Lunch In Blue and White

This look has become one of my favorite outfits this summer. It was the perfect thing to wear out to lunch as blue and white is such a classic combination. Living in Vegas for as long as I have, I like to think of this outfit as a very “east coast look” due to it’s soft pastel blues and the delicate toile pattern on the shorts.

The shorts! THE SHORTS. They’re comfortable, cute and they’re also…pajama bottoms. Not only that…these blue and white toile shorts are from a fashion company–I purchased them about two years ago.

Every few seasons, fashion outlets talk about styling PJ’s as an actual outfit. I’ve always admired the way it looked but there are so many things to take into consideration  when you’re trying to convert PJ’s into an actual “look”.

Anyone can pull off this look and the best thing is–the possibilities and combos are endless. The key is to pulling off pajama bottoms as an actual outfit is to look for bottoms that have a fabulous pattern. Then, pair the bottoms with a neutral or contrasting color in the pattern of the shorts/ pants.

I paired the toile shorts with an old cardigan sweater set. And I love the final result! The contrast between the light powdery blue, and the royal blue toile pattern look fantastic together.

I accessorized the look with my jute bag and nude sandals. This classic blue and white outfit was the perfect thing to wear to lunch– the shorts are thin (comfortable for the Vegas heat), and there SO comfortable. I sized up intentionally planning on wearing them a bit oversized and high waisted.

Don’t forget, just because summer is ending, you can pull this look off with pajama pants too. Like I said earlier, the possibilities and outfit combos are endless!
